Though short in size, this poem is one of the most famous and praised poems of Pushkin.
It portrays a different kind of love, not the love to burn all yourself, to persue the one you love with all means when love exists in your heart, but to love silently and hopelessly, because this kind of love is none of others’ business.
It’s more likely to stay away just look at the one you loved and confirm his being happy.
We can’t say this kind of love is great or selfless, but it’s indeed admirable. But on the other side, how can one get his loved without doing anything? He will surely live in sadeness with endless waiting.
So I do respect this kind of love but I can’t agree with the way they love. |
