　　电影《雨果》故事梗概：

　　故事发生在上世纪30年代末巴黎一个繁忙火车站，主人公12岁孤儿雨果藏匿与墙壁后的暗窄通道里，会在每个夜晚的烛光下给火车站的27座时钟一丝不苟地上油、校准；死去的父亲给他留下的唯一遗产便是神秘笔记和一台旁人眼中完全是垃圾的机器人，雨果从一本木刻书得知这个机器人可以写字作画 ——如果有天他能把它修好。

　　影片其他主要角色包括车站玩具店的老板乔治斯、他的孙女伊莎贝拉。雨果为了得到修理机器人的零件到玩具店偷东西，最终发现古怪老板原来就是隐姓埋名的乔治·梅里耶，他的《月球旅行记》是雨果父亲生前最喜欢的电影。通过雨果的执着最终唤回了乔治·梅里耶的信心和梦想。

　　Everything has a purpose, even machines. Clock tell the time and trains take you places. They do what they're meant to do, like Monsieur Labisse. Maybe that's why broken machines make me so sad. They can't do what they're meant to do. Maybe it's the same with people. If you lose your purpose, it's like you're broken.

　　一切事物都有使命，就连机器也是一样。钟要报时，火车要带你去往目的地。他们都在做着本职的工作。也许这就是为什么机器坏掉我会这么难过。这样他们就不能尽到自己的职责了。也许人也是一样的。如果你的生活毫无目的，就好像你坏掉了一样。

Right after my father died, I would come up here a lot. I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figure if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too.
